The flip side of progress
In 1986 a group of math teachers picketed a math conference in Washington, D.C. The protesters opposed the use of calculators by elementary school children, arguing that it stifles their development and abilities (read: "makes them dumber"). I wonder if something similar is happening these days near the offices of OpenAI and Anthropic?
